The hooks can snap in and out, allowing them to be replaced. It can also be used on its edge, so woodworkers can push stock on a router table or stabilize wood while re-sawing on a band saw, where those hooks can be particularly helpful. The GRR-RIP Block is also great at the table saw and for use in jointing. There is a video showing how to build a GRR-RIP BLOCK Stand that magnetically mounts to your jointer. The grip surface is excellent, giving woodworkers full control of the material. Review-wise, some have had issues with some of the hooks falling out, and the bottom peeling off. The GRR-RIP Block is overpriced according to some customers, particularly as screws to attach the deflector plate are not included.
