Dönemin Cumhuriyet gazetesinde yayımlanan yazılarının ana omurgayı oluşturduğu kitabında, 70'lerin başından 80'lerin sonuna kadarki süreçte Türkiye'deki sermaye-işçi, devlet-işçi ikililerini değerlendiriyor ve CHP'den ANAP'a uzanan serüveninde ülkenin iş bilmez idareciler tarafından gün geçtikçe nasıl yönetilemez hale geldiğini anlatıp yapılan hataları dile getiriyor. Beş bölümden oluşan kitapta, Küçük'ün kendi ifadesiyle belirtmek gerekirse, tekelciliği kapitalizmden öne çıkaran ve bazı temel yönleriyle karşısına koyan ilk formülasyonu kaleme alıyor.
