Extech Scanners & Testers 445815 Editorial Review
The Extech Instruments 445815 Big Digit Humidity Alert has received a mix of feedback from customers, reflecting both its strengths and weaknesses. Overall, many users appreciate the device for its accuracy and reliability in measuring humidity and temperature levels, which is essential for those managing specific health concerns like COPD or monitoring sensitive environments such as computer rooms or terrariums. Users have highlighted the unit's easy setup, quick response time, and user-friendly features such as the ability to set high and low humidity alerts, making it a valuable tool for monitoring air quality. The included 18-inch probe is particularly beneficial for accessing hard-to-reach areas, allowing for comprehensive monitoring. Customers also noted the calibration feature, which enhances the device's functionality, although it comes with a warning to only adjust it if properly equipped and knowledgeable. Despite its reputation for accuracy, some customers have expressed concerns regarding the unit’s longevity and battery life. A few reviews detailed issues with the device requiring frequent battery replacements, leading to frustration and eventual failure. Moreover, while some found the visual design appealing, others criticized the aesthetic, claiming it looks cheap, a contrast to its higher price point. In summary, while the Extech 445815 stands out for its precise readings and useful monitoring capabilities, potential buyers should weigh the concerns regarding build quality and battery life against its advantages for accuracy and functionality. **
