  • Perfumers Alcohol is a specialised base for blending fragrance oils to create perfumes, colognes, and diffuser oils. Suitable for both professionals and hobbyists, this clear solution ensures that blended fragrances remain free from cloudiness. It contains three main ingredients—denatured ethanol, isopropyl myristate, and monopropylene glycol—which help with fragrance dispersion and controlled evaporation.

  • The 3 main ingredients of perfumers alcohol are: Ethanol (denatured) -Alcohol which is the main carrier for the fragrance oils. This evaporates quickly as it is warmed by skin temperature releasing the fragrances evenly over the surface. Isopropyl Myristate – used in preparations where good absorption is desired. Monopropylene glycol – a co-solvent which allows the fragrance oils to be solubilised in the alcohol carrier. This helps to control the evaporation of the alcohol so that it does not flash off too quickly.
  • Fragrance oils are typically given a year’s expiry from the date of manufacture however, many fragrance oils can last months or even years past this date if stored correctly. Tests (we don’t offer this service) can be performed on fragrance oils to determine their suitability beyond their shelf life.
